Felt hats are a staple in the western fashion market and date back to ancient times. Felt hats are also a great way to help prevent damage to your skin due to the suns damaging UV rays.

The American Cancer Society recommends to prevent skin cancer you should :
Wear hats with a brim to shade face, ears, and neck as well as clothing that adequately covers the arms, legs, and torso.

Hat Care :

1. Never store your hat on a right side up surface. This could cause the brim to flatten. Store upside down on a clean surface or in a hat box.

2. To remove dirt from a straw hat; wipe with a clean damp cloth. For a fur felt you can use a clean felt brush. Always brush counterclockwise.

3. Never let your hat get near any source of heat such as the stove, lamp or car windows. The perspiration or any type of heat will shrink the sweatband.

4. You should hold your hat at the brim when holding on to it. Avoid handling the crown (also known as the top of the hat) as much as possible.
