One of the most popular Icon Jackets and overall one of the bestselling sport textile jackets is the Icon Contra Jacket. It combines style, comfort, protection and performance at a great price. Very popular amongst the street and stunt riders, the Contra is built for aggressive riding in Spring-Summer-Fall conditions. CE armor, strategic mesh paneling, and an abrasion-resistant textile construction all come together to make this one of our rider-selected top picks for the sportbike crowd. The Icon Contra jackets are also loved by the dual sport riders for its features which are explained below.
The shell of the Icon Contra Jackets, are a durable nylon chassis that features ballistic nylon reinforcement panels in impact areas at the shoulders and elbows. In strategic areas such as mid-torso, upper chest and the edges of the back, you’ll find Icon’s fighter mesh panels. Fighter mesh is a tightly-woven fabric that provides a great deal of ventilation in addition to maintaining the abrasion resistant nature of this jacket. Turning the airflow off is easy thanks to the removable full-sleeved quilted thermal liner that will keep you warm on those chilly days in late Fall and early Spring. Accordion stretch panels can be found at the shoulders and backs of elbows, allowing a solid range of motion when getting in and out of the tuck or 3/4 position.
Internal protection of vulnerable areas are protected from impact by CE rated Icon field armor at the shoulders and elbows. The dual-density foam back pad boosts some back protection but can be upgraded to the Icon Stryker CE Back Protector for a next level of armor at the back. A key thing to note here is the Contra uses the Relaxed Icon fit. The Contra is a more accommodating fit designed for comfort over the course of an entire day of riding. The TPR inserts that are found throughout the jacket, across the chest and bicep, offer the classic Icon style you have come to know.
As with all of their pieces, Icon makes the Contra in a multitude of graphics that are constantly being updated. The styles available for 2011 are the: Womens Icon Contra, Womens Icon Contra Speed Queen(available in 2 colors), Icon Contra Redeemer, Icon Contra Sacrifice, the Icon Contra GSX-R(available in 3 colors), and the basic Icon Contra jacket(available in 6 colors).

We are introducing the new Ed Hardy leather motorcycle jackets to you. These jackets are made with top quality material and have very detailed hardware and graphics depicting some of the most popular tattoos Ed Hardy ever designed. With styles like the womens “True Love/ Eternal Love” racer jacket and the mens “Do or Die/Born Free” Jacket hitting the stores the Ed Hardy frenzy continues.
Ed Hardy, a Southern California native born in 1945 born Don Ed Hardy, revived a childhood determination to become a tattoo artist and underwent a tattoo apprenticeship while simultaneously receiving a B.F.A. degree in printmaking at the San Francisco Art Institute in 1967. Tattooing professionally since then, he developed the fine art potential of the medium with emphasis on its Asian heritage. In 1973 he lived in Japan, studying with a traditional tattoo master he was introduced to by his primary mentor in the medium, Sailor Jerry Collins of Honolulu. He resumed these studies in Japan throughout the 1980s. Since 1974 he pioneered the emphasis on unique tattoo commissions at his San Francisco studio.
In 2004 Christian Audigier licensed the rights to produce the Ed Hardy clothing line, which is based on Hardy’s imagery. Prior to the Ed Hardy clothing line, Audigier was the Head Designer at Von Dutch Originals, which marketed the imagery of legendary Kustom Kulture artist Von Dutch. Audigier has attempted to replicate the marketing techniques employed by Von Dutch Originals, by marketing directly to celebrity clients and by opening stores in high profile fashion districts. There are currently at least twelve Ed Hardy stores, located in Toronto, Waikiki, Dubai, Miami, Los Angeles, Tucson, New York, Tokyo, Singapore, Noosa on The Sunshine Coast, Melbourne, Sydney, Riga and Gold Coast which opened slightly earlier than expected in late 2007. Stores were opened in Johannesburg, South Africa in early 2007 and Cape Town, South Africa in late 2007. In late 2007, stores were opened in New Delhi & Mumbai. He opened another store in San Francisco in March of 2008 just blocks from Union Square in the city’s famous Market Street shopping district.
The designs have taken a life of there own and are as well know as some famous cartoon characters. There are 4 mens jacket 1 mens vest, 2 womens jackets and 1 womens vest design out so far.

Icon Helmet’s newest motorcycle helmet, the Icon Alliance Helmet, is a state of the art helmet of beauty. The Alliance’s new design and innovative features has put it at the head of the class (pun intended). It’s venting system takes air in through adjustable intakes and force feeds it over the riders head and out the exhaust ports, keeping the rider smooth. Its’ 3D optically correct shield provides optimal peripheral vision. The shield also is fog-free, has a hard coat to prevent scratching, and a pro-lock for riding at high speeds. The interior shape of the Alliance is more oval shaped making the helmet a better fit to a wider range of riders. And the most important aspect of all; it meets and exceeds all 4 World Safety Standards. The cherry on top is the fact that the Icon Alliance looks really good. Look good, ride safe, and feel good – with Icon Alliance Helmets.

Proving you can’t have too much of a good thing, the engineers at Scorpion have revamped the original version of their race-spec glove to create the Scorpion Motorcycle Gloves Klaw. In keeping with Scorpion’s goal of providing ExoSkeletal protection, upgraded leather is combined with “PowerStretch” panels across the knuckles and a protective plate over the back of the hand. The result is an expanded range of flexibility and a perfect fit, without sacrificing protection.
Working in conjunction with the protective plate is the patented ExoTec CE-approved armor. All seams on the Klaw gloves get the ExoStitch overlapping safety seams to make sure they don’t blow out in the event of an impact. The natural wear characteristics of the tough goatskin, combined with added protection of the ExoTec armor inserts, earns the Klaw a full “4″ on Scorpion’s unique Abradium abrasion scale. There is also a full 1 year warranty on these gloves as well.
However, all these up rated specs still don’t mean riders on a budget will have to resort to a five-fingered discount to get their hands on these top-of-the line gauntlets.

What is it about a good straw hat that says it’s Summer time.
The sun-shading benefits and personality are one thing. Style and attitude are another.
Spring and Summer brings about the traditional hat switch from felt hats and leather hats to cooler straw hats.
Are you ready to switch?
Cowboy hats are as deep-rooted in Western heritage as cowboys and horses, so don’t be caught without yours! Not only to stay true to your cowboy or cowgirl way of life, but also to protect your skin and eyes.
A straw hat is the equivalent of stylish sunscreen. The brim keeps sun out of your eyes and also protects your skin. As the concern for skin cancer grows, more straw hats are now made with UV protection to further block harmful rays. Take advantage of the wide cowboy hat brim, and stay covered!
Now for the personality part of a straw hat – make it your own! Are you a classic cowboy, down to the bone – a George Strait kinda cowboy? Or do you live a little on the cowboy edge?
A straw cattleman hat is probably the hat of choice for traditional cowboys and cowgirls. Cattleman cowboy hats feature a creased hat crown and wide hat brim. The classic cattleman straw hat is ideal for wear while working and riding. Not to say cattleman hats don’t play well. Cattleman straw hats are just as functional at the rodeo, bonfire, or wherever your cowboy boots take you! Just ask Jason Aldean; he proudly sports a cattleman style cowboy hat.
If you want an edgier, outlaw cowboy hat, you might prefer a pinch-front straw hat. Pinch-front hats are a modern twist on the cattleman straw cowboy hat. With a “pinched” look at the front of the crown and a curled-up brim, your straw cowboy hat or straw cowgirl hat will have a much more outspoken personality. Pinch-front hats have gained great popularity thanks to country music stars who heavily favor this style.
For more than just driving cattle and mending fences, cowboy hats are an excellent casual hat choice at the rodeo, concert, while riding, and for staying cool and shaded beach side or poolside. Show your unique western style than with a fun and functional straw cowboy hat!
